JBA UK Flood Maps

The source flood data is produced by JBA Consulting and is referred to as the “JBA comprehensive spatial dataset” and is considered to be the most detailed and comprehensive flood assessment data currently available for the United Kingdom.

The JBA data set offers extremely fine detail down to five metre resolution enabling underwriters to overlay flood risk data onto digital terrain mapping software. It covers pluvial and fluvial flood assessment criteria and assumes failure of both natural and manmade flood defences in respect of the following hazards:
  • Rivers
  • Coastal
  • Surface water
  • Reservoir failure
  • Ground water
